
Jonathan Carver Associate
Johnny Carver is an Associate in the Firm’s Miami office. He was born and raised in Shawnee, Kansas. He attended the University of Arkansas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management. In college, he worked for both the Arkansas Razorbacks Mens’ Basketball Team and as a remote basketball analytics consultant for the San Antonio Spurs for two seasons. He was also a basketball operations intern for the Indiana Pacers in the summer of 2016. After graduating in 2017, he attended the University of Miami School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2019 and his LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports in 2020. In 2015, he published his book, Ranketology, A New Way of Determining Basketball’s Greatest Player, which is based on an algorithm he created to determine the greatest player in the history of the National Basketball Association. The book became at one point the ninth best-selling basketball book on Amazon, and he was featured in national publications such as Sports Illustrated.
Johnny began his legal career working in Georgia pre-suit litigation for a reputable firm in Boca Raton, where he gained experience negotiating settlements with insurance companies on behalf of Plaintiffs. Before joining Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L., Johnny also gained experience in insurance defense by representing carriers in Property Damage Claims, Bodily Injury, and Premises Liability litigation for a defense litigation firm in downtown Miami. During law school, Johnny served as a law clerk for a corporate firm in Buffalo, New York and for a criminal defense law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. Johnny uses his competitive attitude and unique experiences working in sports to tailor to the needs of his clients as a zealous and creative advocate.
