Background

Marie Baéz Lorenzo was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After graduating cum laude with a B.A. from Tufts University, Boston, she headed to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend the Tulane University Law School.  Shortly after obtaining her J.D., she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master of Laws degree in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, graduating with distinction in 2012.

Upon her return from the United Kingdom, Marie began her practice handling civil and appellate matters at a small boutique firm in Miami. At this firm, Marie had the opportunity to author a petition for writ of certiorari that successfully overturned a lower court’s decision against her client and established precedent in the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. Thereafter, and prior to joining Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L., Marie practiced international arbitration in the Miami office of a Tier 1 Top 10 global law firm where she represented multinational corporations in high-stakes, cross-border commercial arbitrations, guiding them through the dispute from the initial investigation and case development phase, through discovery, trial, and post-trial proceedings.

Marie has deep-rooted cultural ties to Miami, the city which she now calls home.
