Boyd, Richards, Parker, Colonnelli, a civil defense law firm is seeking an associate attorney to handle defense of first party property damage lawsuits. The position requires the ability to adhere to deadlines, multi-task, and handle a high volume of cases. The desired candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and self-starter. Court appearances and taking of depositions will be required. Travel to various courthouses and other locations is expected. Florida Bar admission required.
Responsibilities:
Managing full case load from case inception to post-trial
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
Preparing pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents
Preparing timely reports to insurance carriers and clients regarding case status and ongoing activities
Ability to prioritize work load based on deadlines
Communicating effectively with senior attorneys and paralegals
Ability to meet billing requirements
Requirements:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to interact with attorneys, paralegals, and other office staff in a professional manner
Ability to delegate and prioritize as necessary
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ProLaw a plus
Qualifications:
Member in Good Standing of the Florida Bar
