Insurance Defense Paralegal – Miami Office

Boyd, Richards, Parker, & Colonnelli, P.L. is seeking an experienced and professional full-time paralegal for its Miami office. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years working in a defense law firm and possess strong research, analytic, and writing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full case load from case inception to post trial successfully.
• Handle all aspects of discovery and trial preparation for caseload, including, but not limited to:
• Preparation of pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, trial lists, and other litigation documents.
• Intake and organization of voluminous document production received from clients, opposing parties, and non-parties.
• Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials to assist attorneys.
• Meet monthly billing requirements
• Manage calendar to ensure compliance with all discovery and trial deadlines.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, legal assistants, and other office staff to assist in all aspects of litigation.
• Experience handling both liability and damages issues.
• Prior experience billing pursuant to insurance carrier requirements a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of ProLaw a plus.
• A college degree, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent years of experience is preferred.
• Polished, professional candidate with a positive can-do attitude.
