Background

Emilio Torres is a Senior Paralegal at the Fort Lauderdale office of Boyd Richards Park & Colonnelli, P.L. Emilio obtained his Legal Studies/Paralegal Continuing Education Program from Florida International University. He has been a litigation paralegal for over 15 years.

Before joining the Firm, Emilio handled high volume Defense cases from inception through post-trial in the areas of: complex medical malpractice, premises liability, wrongful death, personal injury, automobile accidents, negligent security, products liability, slip and fall, bad faith, construction defect matters, and first-party property.

Emilio assists attorneys, partners, and legal secretaries in proactive litigation management; comprehensive investigation; drafting pre-trial and trial motions, discovery requests and responses, correspondences to clients scrutinizing discovery responses, pre-trial motions, exhibits, and witnesses; performing legal research; and preparing attorneys for depositions, hearings, client meetings, mediations, mock trial, and trial.

Emilio has experience at the State and Federal levels including, County and Circuit Courts, United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts, and Appellate Courts. Emilio is fluent in both English and Spanish.

In Emilio’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, hiking, reading, and watching sports.
