Background

Paul Hammond joined Boyd Richards Parker Colonnelli as a partner on October 19, 2020. Paul was born in Albany, New York before moving to Central Florida with his family in 1991. In Tampa, Florida Paul obtained a degree in Speech Communications from the University of South Florida. He obtained his law degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2002. Paul was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 2002, and has worked exclusively representing and defending insurance carriers, their insureds and self-insured clients.

Paul has represented clients in mediations, arbitrations and at trial, in cases in both Florida State and Federal Courts. His practice areas include, but are not limited to, negligent security, premises liability, motor vehicle and trucking accidents, commercial liability, director and officer liability claims, first party insurance coverage disputes, asbestos/talcum powder lawsuits and construction defect litigation.

Paul has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2002. He is also admitted to the Middle District and Northern District of Florida Federal Courts. He is a life member of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Representative Cases

Secured final summary judgment, extinguishing all claims in five separate personal injury lawsuits involving significant medical expenses, claims of related surgery and wage loss damages, for nationwide convenient store corporation client. Final summary judgment in client’s favor were entered in Orange, Pinellas, Hernando and Pasco County, Florida’s Circuit Courts.

Resolved officers and directors claim raised by Plaintiff homeowner’s association in Windemere, Florida through mediated settlement, for fraction of damages claimed by association who sought damages of nearly $300,000.00 to completely remove and re-tile buildings in dispute.

Tried case to defense verdict in Sarasota County, Florida on behalf of Defendant marine mechanic charged by Plaintiff with causing significant damage to Plaintiff’s vessel. Outcome of trial resulted in finding of no liability on behalf of small business owner defendant.
