Vanessa Brizo Partner
Background
Vanessa is an attorney at the Miami office of the Firm. Her practice is focused on professional and legal malpractice defense as well as representing condominium and homeowner associations. She has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation and business matters, including condominium, real estate, commercial tenancy, shareholder disputes, creditors rights, corporate divorce, breach of contract, negligence, business torts, fraud, and fraudulent transfer matters.
Throughout her career, Vanessa has successfully represented condominium and homeowner associations, business entities, financial institutions, investors–both foreign and domestic, individual property and business owners, among others. Vanessa has done so in state and federal court from the inception of a case, through any appeal, to trial, and post-trial proceedings. Vanessa works with each client to investigate all claims, evaluate the options to address them, determine the objectives, and build a course of action to achieve the goals of the client.
Vanessa has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2014 and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Southern and Middle District of Florida. She graduated from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she was a comments and articles editor of the Law Review. Vanessa earned her undergraduate degree from Florida International University in International Relations with a minor in Economics.
Vanessa is a loyal Miami native passionate about giving back to her community. After volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem for four years and for the Legal Services of Greater Miami, Tenants’ Equal Justice Clinic for three years, Vanessa joined the board of the Women’s Fund Miami-Dade, and is now on the executive board as secretary and serves as co-chair of the governance committee, where she advocates for the economic mobility, freedom from violence, leadership, health and wellbeing of women and girls in South Florida.
